Machine leg presses are a great
way to work out both legs at the same time, they also allow you
to do more and more weight over a shorter period of time due to
the fact your leg muscles are very strong. Another benefit of machines
is that you don't have to worry about any unforeseen injuries because
the machine secures itself on the brakes on either side.
Here's how to perform this exercise safely and correctly.
1. Seat yourself on the machine,then place your feet on the sled.
Keep in mind your feet should be shoulder width apart.
2. Now point your toes outwards
3. Take hold of the handles on either side of your seat. Always
remember to keep your back from arching.
4. Release the brake on the machine, and begin to slowly lower the
sled until your knees are at a 90 degree angle, or until your lower
back begins to come off the seat.
5. Now briefly keep this position, then return to your initial position.
