Seated calf raises are important for the soleus muscle that happens to be a deep muscle located in your lower legs. They soleus muscles are important for endurance activities such as running and bicycling.

Here's how to perform this exercise correctly.
1. Sit on the seat with your knees under the knee pads.
2. Now place the balls of your feet on the edge of the foot plate.
3. Take off the brake,and now your heels should be hanging over the edge.
4. Raise up on your toes as high as possible.
5. Return slowly to a position where your heels are hanging down again as far as possible to ensure for a good stretch.
